The Morning Celebration

How many of us have read about the benefits of regular exercise? Probably all of us. How many of us practice this regularly? This is difficult to answer.
For the last one month, I have been trying to exercise at least for about 10-15 mins every morning. My poor treadmill was waiting for three long years for me to put it into regular use. I have developed a soft corner for it now. The struggle of putting myself together for this activity is a challenge but once I start doing it, I do not complain at all. I think it is all a mental challenge. The physical challenge comes much later especially when you overdo on some days challenging your own stamina.
Newspapers normally publish articles on good health and fitness, especially in their weekend editions. There are also Sunday magazines covering special sections on a healthy diet or a fitness mantra of a celebrity.
How do these celebrities remain consistent with their health routines? Well, one reason that I can think of is their fitness having a Doppler effect on their career opportunities. More than enhancing their physical appearance, physical fitness contributes to their capability to withstand abnormal working hours and intense travel schedules.
Another category of self-motivated people are the senior citizens. Majority of them regularly go for early morning walks. Are they motivated to do this because they have high levels of diabetes or cholesterol? Well, maybe, maybe not, but yes they are motivated enough to be disciplined with their fitness regime from their health point of view.
So now it finally boils down to the college goers and the office goers who are not celebrities. What should be their motivation to exercise every day? Well for starters, there needs to be an inner calling that irresponsibility towards fitness shall have serious effects as we age. Secondly, the desire to look young and fit by defying one's age should be a motivating factor as well.
So, how we as common people get the motivation for such a practice. I think the answer lies within oneself. No one on earth can motivate you to exercise unless you choose to. It is a continuous cycle. One needs to be consistent and disciplined in following a certain fitness routine. There is no requirement of replicating what others can or are doing. Every person has a different level of stamina and one needs to build over it as time passes by.
Well, to be honest, it is indeed an uphill task. I am still a beginner and have a long way to go.
It’s not an easy affair but if you are determined then no one can stop you. There is ‘no’ tomorrow if you are still planning to start your fitness regime. Only ‘today’ exists in the fitness dictionary.
